Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is a combination of football scholarship, family work and community involvement. The first time Selmon was brought up with Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon. They lived on a farm near Eufala within Oklahoma as the youngest of the nine children they had. He played second in football and was the third brother who were players for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the USA. In the three years that Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. Selmon was a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third season in 1975. Selmon earned a degree as an educator. Lee Roy's fourth service was ten-hours per week in volunteer work during college. Following college, he relocated in Tampa and played nine seasons with the Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro 3 times. He then began his professional career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that, in 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top ten outstanding young people throughout the United States. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 7-foot-2. When he was playing college, he commanded the 1975 team. In 1993, Roy joined at the University of South Florida's sports department as its assistant director. In 1988, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He also made his way into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
